Octopus Kit - Crochet

This is an ideal kit if you can already crochet, but want to have a go at amigurumi – the Japanese art of making little stuffed toys. The technique mainly relies on double crochet stitches (we use British terminology for all our kits and patterns) worked in a spiral.

This kit includes two patterns – the easiest version is worked in two pieces, which are stitched together, and the slightly more advanced one requires no sewing other than weaving in the ends, but uses an additional technique.

When we investigated the collective noun for octopuses, we discovered that it’s either a tangle or a consortium. Now we really don’t want you to create tangles, so consortium it is! With this kit, you’ve got everything you need to make your very own consortium, like we have in our bricks and mortar shop.

A paper pattern (including both versions)
Four 25g balls of Ricorumi cotton dk
1 Snail of Happiness stitch marker

3.25mm KnitPro crochet hook
1 tapestry needle for sewing up
2 sets of 6mm safety eyes
2 sets 9mm safety eyes
Some recycled wool stuffing
