Darning mushroom

Our darning mushrooms are made from sycamore wood, sourced from the area around Lampeter and hand made by a local wood turner. Each one is individual in terms of the wood grain and the exact shape, size and detailing, so the dimensions given are approximate. Every darning mushroom is, however, beautifully produced, with a smooth surface that feels lovely in the hands and won’t snag the fabric that is being mended. These are a great tool for mending socks, gloves (insert the “handle” into the fingers of gloves for darning) and all sorts of woollies. But no need to confine your mends to these things – given a little practice, you can darn t-shirts, jeans and almost any other fabric item.
